Speaking to Fox News, she explained that the strong growth in online casino games and the development of the mobile and tablet gaming sector has boosted the demand for virtual money.
Bitcoins are already well used in the US’s large sports betting industry as it enables players to place bets easily.
Tyler Wilson, chief executive officer of Bitcoin Sports Trade, explained: “The emergence of bitcoin has allowed us the opportunity to create an online sports-betting platform that makes it 100 per cent more convenient for US sports bettors in a variety of ways.”
